Thomas Lee "T.L." Smart's Obituary
Thomas L. “T.L.” Smart, 84, went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 23, 2024 at his residence under the care of his loving family and staff of Cornerstone Hospice. T.L. was born on November 27, 1940 in Leesburg, Florida to his parents Thomas J. Smart and Margie Dean (Norsworthy) Smart.
T.L. was a Lifelong resident of Sumter County, Florida. He was a proud veteran who served in the United States Army. T.L. was the former Fire Chief of the City of Wildwood Fire Department with over 33 years of service. He was of the Christian faith and a member of Crossgate Church of God in Inverness, Florida.
T.L. is survived by his loving daughter: Tammy Slankard and her husband Michael of Ocala, FL; two brothers: Richard Smart and his wife Mel of Bryceville, FL and Raymond Smart and his wife Debbie of Rutland, FL; three sisters: Linda Johnson and her husband Neil of Jacksonville, FL, Theresa Barlow and her husband Ralph of Dunnellon, FL and Karen Goodson of Plant City, FL; three loving grandchildren: Brittany Bridges, Ashley Glenn and Taylor Rimes and her husband Jay; five great-grandchildren: Ryder Wade, Jacob Rasnick, Hope Rasnick, Ricki Farkus and Lainey Farkus and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas J. Smart and his mother, Margie Dean Brantley and his beloved wife Barbara Smart.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at 11:00AM at Banks, Page-Theus Funeral Home, Wildwood Chapel with Pastor Junior Branson officiating with Burial at Greenwood Cemetery, Wildwood, Florida. A Visitation will be held prior from 10:00AM till the hour of service at the funeral home.
