T.L was the Fire Chief when I moved to Wildwood and joined the department. Coming from Jacksonville FD with more than 45 stations. I was really impressed with the with the FD that Chief Smart had built. TL was the Chief but treated all of us like a friend. From 1984 to 2003 when he retired, I was constantly learning from him. A true leader, mentor and friend. He’s with Barbara now, and happy. Slow Hand Salute Chief Smart RIP Sir, God Speed.
