Ralph Wendell Warnock, Sr.'s Obituary
Ralph “Wendell” Warnock, Sr., 86, of Oxford, passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2010. Mr. Warnock was born in Webster and has lived in Sumter County all of his life. He had served in the U.S. Army during WWII and retired from the Railroad and Farming. He was a member of the Wildwood United Methodist Church, Wildwood Masonic Lodge, Ocala Scottish Rite, the Shrine, N.A.R.V.E. and the Fl. Cattleman Association. Survivors include his son, Ralph (Denise) of Wildwood; daughter, Nancy (Bruce) Akins of Murfreesboro, Tn.; brother, Herman of Hamlet, N.C.; sisters, Ernestine Warnock of Jacksonville and Lois Wilson of Ocala; 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Mr. Warnock was preceded in death by his wife, Louise; daughter, Miriam Stegall; siblings, Lynette Tabor, Lowell Warnock, Lillian Lawrence, Edward Warnock, Roy Warnock, Mildred Edenfield and Robbie Settle. The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 P.M., Thursday, May 6, 2010, in the Banks/Page-Theus Chapel. Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M., Friday, May 7, 2010, in the Wildwood United Methodist Church. Interment will follow the service in Pine Level Cemetery, Oxford. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the Wildwood United Methodist Church, 300 Mason St., Wildwood, Fl. 34785 or Cornerstone Hospice, 601 Casa Bella, The Villages, fl. 32162.
