Phil Haisten's Obituary
Phil Haisten, 62, of Summerfield, passed away on Friday, September 19, 2025, at UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida, following an extended illness, with his wife and daughter by his side.
Born in Geneva, Alabama, Phil grew up in the Ocala area and attended Lake Weir High School. He was of the Christian faith and, as a child, attended the Baptist Church. He made his home in Summerfield, where he spent most of his married life.
Phil worked for many years as a truck driver, hauling oversize loads, and at one time was an owner-operator. He will be remembered for his love of fishing—especially on the water in his boat, his love of sweet tea, and the joy he found in cooking for his family. He was especially known for his excellent banana pudding. In his younger years, Phil enjoyed painting, remodeling, and watching old Elvis concerts on television. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family and friends.
Phil was a kind and thoughtful man, always considerate of others and willing to lend a hand. What many will not know are the quiet, anonymous acts of service he offered throughout his life.
He is survived by his wife, Judy, with whom he shared an extraordinary bond of friendship, laughter, love, and support. He is also survived by brothers, sisters, children, grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, and devoted friends. His legacy of listening, optimism, and hope will be deeply missed by those who knew him best.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Marie (Mott) Haisten.
A Graveside Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Pine Level Cemetery, 3379 County Road 203 Oxford, Florida 34484, with Pastor Craig Attaway officiating.
