Pearl Shepherd's Obituary
Pearl Shepherd, 91, of Fruitland Park, passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2014. Mrs. Shepherd was born July 13, 1923, in Vidalia, GA, to the late Mathew F. and Susie (Moxley) Banks. She moved to Fruitland Park in 1951 from Lyons, GA. She was a member of the Community United Methodist Church in Fruitland Park. Pearl had retired from Food Services with the Lake County School Board. She had volunteered with many organizations including tutoring at the Fruitland Park Elementary School and after school at the Community United Methodist Church. She loved caring for her family and friends. Survivors include her children, Barbara Ann (Jim) Ferguson of Lady Lake, Cynthia (Larry) Wells of Ocala, Greg Shepherd of Fruitland Park, Michael (Jill) Shepherd of Umatilla; siblings, Vera Kearney of Beaufort, SC and Donald (Betty) Banks of Vidalia, GA; 6 grandchildren, Glase Ferguson, Heather Green, Heidi Wells, Lauren Harper, Eric Shepherd and Melissa Sejnowski; 3 great-grandchildren, Lara, Axel and Ben. She was preceded in death by 2 husbands, Steeny L. Koon and H. Benjamin Shepherd along with 4 siblings, Chester Banks, Coleman Banks, Dell Banks and Dean Miles.
Funeral services for Pearl will be held 3:00pm, Sunday, September 28, 2014, in the Banks/Page-Theus Chapel with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service in Shiloh Cemetery, Fruitland Park.
