Pearl Shepherd, 91, of Fruitland Park, passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2014. Mrs. Shepherd was born July 13, 1923, in Vidalia, GA, to the late Mathew F. and Susie (Moxley) Banks. She moved to Fruitland Park in 1951 from Lyons Read Obituary
Pearl was a wonderful ,kind person, she worked with my mother, Lena Bea La Flam, and they were good friends. My mom thought the world of Pearl and always talked about the great cook Pearl was, being able to whip up a meal from anything. My thoughts and prayers to her family. Karen L. Baumgardner

it is with great sadness to hear of the passing of your mother. I know all the times visiting for photo shoots or just to pick delicious grapefruit from the trees on your property... your mom was always so accommodating and sweet. She was one of the few "rocks" in Fruitland Park... (I mean this in a complementary way....) FPark will not be the same. What energy and sound mind this woman had.
Please know that we are feeling your sadness today and the days to come as you prepare for her final good bye.

Aunt Pearl was one of Shep's favorite aunts! She was an amazing lady and a great Southern cook. She also could talk non-stop. Prayers for all the family members to be encouraged and inspired during this difficult time. Know that Shep, Aunt Pearl and so many other family members are having a heavenly reunion. Rachelle C. Aunt Pearl was my great aunt. She was my daughter Mary-Michael's great great aunt. Mary-Michael called her Aunt Mee Maw. When Mary-Michael was born, I lived in Leesburg but my mother lived in Georgia. If it weren't for Aunt Mee Maw, I don't know how I would have made it! She insisted I give that baby cereal at two weeks because she was starving! At that point I had only had 45 minutes at a time sleep for two weeks. I was about delirious. She helped raised my mom, me and many other family children. We were blessed to have her in our lives. We will miss her until we all meet again!
