I would like to express my deepest condolences to the Newell family. I remember her days as a librarian at Webster Elementary School very fondly. She was always glad to help students in locating library books. She even once (that I know of) hosted a computer programming mini-day camp for several of the students. I know; I attended that camp and enjoyed every minute of it.
Mrs. Newell also taught me about the library system. I was unable to attend PE like most of the other children at the school, so school officials placed me in the library during that time. Mrs. Newell taught me how to shelf books and how to run the audio-visual equipment. When I became an adult, we worked together shortly after her retirement as we helped the new librarian adjust to her duties. Because of her, I learned to appreciate the operations of the library.
She will be sorely missed.
