Nora Mayworth's Obituary
Nora Mayworth, 92, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2016. Nora was born June 27, 1923 on a small island off the coast of Virginia, but lived from Maine to Florida, traveling wherever the Coast Guard sent her Dad, Robert Long.
Nora was a 50 yr old graduate of U.S.F. receiving a Bachelor’s in Ed. She taught 15 years in Hillsborough Schools.
At retirement the Mayworths moved to Sebring, FL., where her son and family resided. She and John had many happy years traveling and watching Grandchildren grow up. They also enjoyed golf at Golf Hammock CC.
Nora was a loving Mother and wife. Nora was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, John Mayworth. He passed away July 2007. She is survived by 3 children; John W. Mayworth (Deborah) and Robert Thomas Mayworth (Susan), Mary J. Eybers (Mike). Six Grandchildren, Melissa Moraws, Joshua Mayworth (Vandy), Benjamin Mayworth (Sarah), Nicholas Eybers, Corey Eybers and John Eybers. Great grandchildren Kelsey Moraws and Matthew Moraws.
Funeral services will be held at the Chapel of Peace at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, 854 Memorial Drive, Avon Park, FL on Monday, March 28, 2016 at 11:00 AM with visitation from 10:00AM until the service begins. With Emmanuel United Christ Pastor George Miller, and Pastor Ron Norton, First Christian Church of Sebring, Church of the Disciples.
