I’m the middle grandchild of Joe. I know that this is late but I loved my Papa so much and I miss him everyday and I think about him everyday. I haven’t truly believed that he is now gone. But now I understand and I no longer miss him because I know I will see him again. This isn’t a goodbye, it’s a see you later.
Oh, what heart breaking news to have heard of the passing of our WONDERFUL AND MUCH LOVED FRIEND JOE!!! We have been out of town, just returned and although Joe is now in the presence of our Lord, the memories that so many of us hold, just have our hearts pounding. There is just no amount of words that can describe the relationship that so many of us "home-towners" have had over the years with Joe. Where-ever Joe was, there was just a great big glow of Love. He could so easily go from laughing to tears and which ever the situation, you knew for sure that it was from his heart! To just think of him now singing up there in Heaven, sends cold chills just knowing that so many of our dear familiy and friends are now being so Blessed by that tremendous voice that God Blessed him with. He has been such an inspiration to everyone that he was around and being the Christian man that Joe was, everyone could feel the Testimony that he lived and shared.
Like we said, there are just no amount of words to say enough about our feelings about our wonderful friend Joe!

The greatest friend I have ever had. Thank you Joe you were always there. There was always laughter and Joy when Joe was around but he would also cry with you too. We will laugh together again. If you have known Joe you are a blessed person. He had a heart of gold and was a very tender man. Big hugs but gentle as a teddy bear. Great man of God. Will love Joe forever. What a Man, God created ! He helped me through the passing of my family and so missed his help when my husband passed in March 2016. Joe so loved everyone that knew him, it will sadden us all to miss him, but thanks to God's sharing him with us for the time he allowed ; if only more people could have his love for God and family, making friends feel like family, too ! Symonds Family--- Words really can't express-- the friendship/working relationship and sincere appreciation-- I had for Mr. Joe..-- but i'm going to try..Joe was such a kind, gentleman-- who truly loved his family-- and I mean loved his family-- when things were slow sometimes here at work-- Joe would chat about the family, the outings, the games and music festivals and his love for Jean-- by the end of the conversations- we'd both be tearing up--his love for God spoke through him and he always had a kind word for everyone and-- that southern gentleman was always there--- opening doors, tipping his hat, getting up at the table for a lady to be seated-- that was Joe...and when he sang for services here at the funeral home--- there was never a dry eye in the chapel-- especially here in the office -- Peggy and myself-- would be crying away--- for a good thought.. his music moved you. and those "junk runs" he talked about with the grand kids-- wow-- I think he enjoyed those more than the kids - they will always have that memory-- and when I need-- something sweet or salty-- I'll be making "junk runs" in honor of Mr. Joe! We were blessed to have Joe in our lives- we have missed him, since the day he "retired" here at the funeral home-- and we will always miss him there will no other - Mr. Joe-- so Symonds family, thank you for sharing Joe with us here for 13 years !! Our thoughts and prayers are with all of the family. May the Lord be your strength through this. Joe will be truly missed. I remember the time you all came Christmas caroling to our house and when he sang at Alans memorial. He was a special person and we loved him very much. Gail Edwards and Marilyn Brooks.
Joe has blessed so many with his beautiful singing. While we will miss his voice we know he is now singing praises face to face with his Lord Jesus. May God give you peace and comfort in your time of sorrow.
