I remember Buddy when he came to visit in Arkansas, He and Sharon and Beth. I really liked him. The Lucas family and my family were kin. I really was looking forward to see him again and will when I get to see him in Heaven.

My first meeting with Buddy was in Baltimore, Maryland when I was Train Master. Buddy and Richard Bolander came to Balto to learn the territory before it was transferred to Jacksonville Dufford Center. I gave them the tour of Balto Terminal, well it was the fun tour which included Fort Mc Henry. When Buddy found out that I was originally from Brunswick, Md...he said his Dad (Samuel) was in WWII with Bill Kidwiler, from Brunswick, who had been a great friend and mentor of mine. In 1988, when I came to Jacksonville Buddy came to see me and asked if I remembered showing him around in 1986. Ironically, Buddy and I had been to Nam about the same time. We were so sorry to hear about Buddy. He will be greatly missed. Our thoughts & prayers are with his family. David dispatched with Buddy. David retired in 2009.

Some of my fondest memories with Buddy was when we went on road review together. We ended up in Chicago and went to a Baseball game It was sold out, but we got in and stood for the whole game. It was Ryne Sandberg last game at Wrigley field. What a time we had in getting back to the motel- Commuter train -wrong direction-then on another going back- changed a couple of times - then had to take a bus to get to another commuter train and ended up at the end of the line in the very worst place in Chicago-got lucky and got a taxi - the Cabbie said we were lucky to be alive. We enjoyed some time in Henderson, KY with my Sister and visited my Aunt and Uncle-had a great time. I can not think of anyone I would rather have been with on this trip.
