James Perry Driggers' Obituary
James “Perry” Driggers, 87, of Wildwood passed away Thursday, January 6, 2011 in Lady Lake, Florida. He was born July 28, 1923 in Oxford, FL to the late Joshua and Sally Driggers. Perry was a lifetime and faithful member of Oxford Assembly of God, where he taught Sunday school for 53 years. He retired in 1979 from the Florida Department of Agricultural under Commissioner Mayo. He was an avid hunter and he enjoyed running his dogs. After his retirement Perry enjoyed going to the Webster Livestock Market with his cows. Perry was survived by his wife Betty Jo Hart Driggers of 33 years. Son, Stephen (Pam)Driggers; Brothers; A.L. “Pat” (Shirley) Driggers, Howard Eldon “Tobe” (Nancy) Driggers, Sisters; Myrtle Inez Driggers, Helen Ione (Truman) Vause; Grandchildren; Joshua (Kathy) Driggers, Delana (Don) Quincey, Darby Driggers, Nikki (Joey) Meyers, Joe Driggers, 7 Great grandchildren; Devin, Dustin, Ashton, Dalton, Gillian, Daniel, and Abigail. Mr. Driggers was preceded in death by brothers; Alvin Joshua, Robert Riley, Willie Maddox, sisters; Mabel Marie, Claranell Agnes, daughter, Suzanne Driggers. Visitation services for Mr. Driggers will be Saturday, January 8, 2011, 10-11 a.m. with Funeral services following at 11:00 a.m. at the Oxford Assembly of God Church, Oxford with interment following at Pine Level Cemetery.
