Jack O'Dell's Obituary
Jack Stevens O’Dell, 88, of Wildwood passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2014. Mr. O’Dell was born in Oxford on September 21, 1925 to Will Milton and Margaret (Stevens) O’Dell. He has lived here his entire life other than when he served in the U.S. Army during WWII with the Medic Corp. He was a cattleman and belonged to the Florida Cattleman’s Association, the American Legion and the Gator Boosters. He attended the First Baptist Church of Oxford and enjoyed watching over his cows, bird hunting, going to Gator games, being with his family and swapping stories over coffee at Hardees. Survivors include his son, Jody of Lady Lake; 4 nephews and 3 nieces, Jimmy O’Dell of Gainesville, Stephen O’Dell of Wildwood, Glenna Taylor of Pensacola, Tasha Buford of Tallahassee, Pam McCutcheon of Athens, GA, Craig O’Dell of Beverly Hills and Milton O’Dell of Marianna; 8 great nieces, 5 great nephews, 5 great-great nieces and 2 great-great nephews. Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Martha in 1988. Visitation for Jack will be 6:00pm – 8:00pm, Friday, April 4, 2014 in the Banks/Page-Theus Chapel. Funeral services will be held 11:00am, Saturday, April 5, 2014 in the Oxford Assembly of God Church with interment following in Pine Level Cemetery.
