This memory is for Mr. Jack O'Dell´s son, Jody.

I first met Mr. O'Dell when I was 17 years old. I am from Argentina and this was my first trip to the U.S.A (Wildwood) . My first impression about the O'Dell family was that they belonged to my own family. It seemedI had known them for a long time. Maybe it is true, as they say, we all have a spiritual family that trascends distance and blood lines. This was how this family felt to me, even though I shared only a few days with them. Jack was the friendliest, warmest and nicest host I have ever had. I remember July afternoons sitting and talking to him over some iced tea, he always willing to share and listen, never tired, always smiling.
Jody, in this first anniversary of his departure my heart goes out to you in your loss. I lost my father last year too.

Dear Jody... Thank you for the privilege of allowing me to get to know your Dad. Whenever I think of Jack, I will remember his hearty laugh and smile that would light up the room. Through his love for the Lord, and his willingness to learn from him, he allowed God to use him to teach me things about myself, helping us both, to become better Christians. Every night when we said our prayers he would ask God to "show him the way". I will always admire his perseverance and how he never complained about anything, regardless of surrounding circumstances. I pray for God to bless you with his peace that passes all understanding. The only thing that came close to Jack's love of God ... was his love for you.

Jody- Our family was saddened to get the news of Mr. Jack's passing. You have been like a brother to us for as long as I can remember. Please know many are praying for you and you will always have a place in our family. I know your Daddy is enjoying heaven now with your Mama. I am sure "G" is somewhere in the mix of things and like he said..."Mr.. Jack had the home base covered". Rest assured you will see him again one day.

We remember the good times with Uncle Jack and Jody, at Jimmy and Liesl's home with Olivia & Matt, Katie, Will, Casey and Olivia's four darling daughters surrounding Uncle Jack with so much joy, happiness and love...and all the great food for all special occasions like Gator ball-games, holidays, or just because -. He was always the perfect gentleman, a true Gator booster for sure, and with his Christian character he guided our grandchildren in the right way, and showed his love for each of them. We love you, Jody and your loving caregiving faithfulness kept him going like nothing else could have.

Jody, so sorry to hear of your dad's passing, I will always remember the two of you coming in to the Golden Lamb Restaurant in Tavares every Sunday night, also seeing you at the Cottage Inn, and of course the Florida Gator football games. He was a fine gentleman at all times. He wil be missed.
