Jack Morton Hammons' Obituary
Jack Morton Hammons was born September 11, 1921, in Weirsdale, Florida to John Wesley Hammons and Nora Reedy, both deceased. On January 15, 1942, Jack married Maryon Rose Nichols and together they celebrated the birth of three daughters. Jack entered the armed services in October 1942 and served as an airplane mechanic in the Navy until December 1946. After an honorable discharge from the Navy, he was employed by the Seaboard Railroad / Coastline Railroad for forty years. Jack was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wildwood, Wildwood Masonic Lodge No. 92 F&AM, Order of the Eastern Star - Chapter #24, Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and N.A.R.V.E. He enjoyed turkey and deer hunting and fishing. He grew bountiful gardens and enjoyed yard work. Jack departed this life and entered his heavenly home on January 4, 2010. Cherishing his memory are his wife Maryon; three daughters: Sharon Watson (Gary), Donna Timson (Ron) and Denise Warnock (Ralph); four grandchildren: Shelley Garrison (Mark), Kevin Watson (Donna), Jason Timson (Chris) and Nicole Westbrook (Matthew); great-grandchildren: Jessica, Jacob, Daniel, Alex, Marilyn, Katherine, Gaige, Shelby Rose, Blane, and Madison Leigh. Funeral Services for Jack will be held 11:00, Friday, January 8, 2010, in the Banks/Page-Theus Funeral Chapel with visitation one hour prior to the service.
