Thomas J. Schaal, 83, of Lakeland, passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2021. Mr. Schaal was born July 5, 1937 in Detroit, MI to Arnold and Agnes Schaal. He had served as a member of the National Guard and retired from GM as a director of purchasing. Tom moved to FL in1985 from Northville, MI. He was a faithful member of the Resurrection Catholic Church in Lakeland. Tom enjoyed being a watercolor artist and loved golfing and traveling. Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Carole; son, Scott Schaal (Lisa) of Lakeland; daughter, Sandee Cooper (John) of Durham, NC; sister, Dianne Schaal and 4 grandchildren. Along with his parents, Tom was preceded in death by a brother, Gary and sister, Judy. A Mass of Resurrection to celebrate Tom’s life will be planned in the future.
