Wilma Young's Obituary
Wilma Young, 95, of The Villages passed away Friday, May 25, 2018. Mrs. Young was born November 26, 1922 in Calhoun, Missouri to William Burton and Alma Laticia Levina (Beck) Carnell. She joined the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII and was stationed at Pearl Harbor after the bombing. Wilma had earned her bachelor’s degree at St. Mary’s College, and was a District Manager for Avon devoting 33 years of service. She moved here in 2004 from Haines City and was a member of Heritage Community Church in Fruitland Park. Wilma loved the Lord, singing and helping others. She enjoyed being involved in her church family, and she left her “sparkle” with everyone she knew. Survivors include her children, Patrick Young, Shannon & Craig Jensen of Rapid City, SD, Colleen & Michael Brooks of The Villages; grandchildren, Corey Dean Dunlap, Josh Young, Jamie Young, Michael Holzinger; great-granddaughter, JoJo. Wilma was preceded in death by her first husband, Wayne Young; second husband, Orville Leroy Tallman; son, Michael Young, brother, Larry Carnell, and great-grandson, Austin O’Cilka. Wilma’s family and friends will celebrate her life 10:30am, Saturday, June 2, 2018, in the Heritage Community Church, 509 W Berckman St., Fruitland Park, FL 34731. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Wilma's honor may be made to Beyond the Walls Food Pantry, www.heritagecommunity.org.
