William "Dale" Smith's Obituary
William “Dale” Smith, 66, of Belleview, passed away on Friday, August 30, 2019 in Summerfield, Florida. A native central Floridian, Dale was born on July 6, 1953 in Ocala, Florida, to William Bruce and Viola Marjorie Elaine (Tostenson) Smith and was raised in Belleview where he helped on the family farm and at Smith’s Food Store. Dale married his soulmate Esther “Janice” Smith in 1977. They built their home in Belleview where they both have deep roots. Dale was a professional freelance photographer, a civil engineer, a design draftsman and a graphic design artist. Dale was a member of the Belleview Lions Club where, with a generous and service minded heart, he contributed to the community. Dale loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them, laughing over games and capturing smiles, tears, and laughter on film. His curious and adventurous spirit and love of the outdoors created many memorable journeys geocaching and enjoying playing Native American flute music. Dale never met a stranger, as he had a kind and friendly demeanor that built and maintained friendships that spanned decades. Dale is survived by his wife Janice of Belleview, God-daughter, Cynthia Plesner and husband Carl of Leesburg, Florida, brother Kenneth Edward Smith and wife Kate of Osage Beach, Missouri, brother Joe Eric Smith and wife Jan of Clermont, Florida, sister Joan Smith Carey and husband Chris of Newark, Delaware, and many nieces and nephews. A private Celebration of Life will be held for Dale at a later date. When you finally find the courage to dream with your eyes wide open, when you finally find the courage to trust, you can finally watch your dreams unfold.....
