William R. Ackley's Obituary
William R. Ackley, 75, Leesburg, FL. passed away on Friday, March 2, 2012 in Tampa, Florida under the loving care of his family. Mr. Ackley was born on February 18, 1937 to his parents Newell and Mabel Ackley. He was a former Quality Control Inspector in the Metal fabricating Industry. Moved to Leesburg, FL. 8 years ago from Gold Bar, Washington and was of the Christian faith. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Marine Corps., and was involved with his church choir and singing in a Barbershop Quartet. Mr. Ackley enjoyed Gardening, riding and fixing vehicles including his “four wheeler”; he opened his home and heart to troubled youths and helped make a difference in the lives of those who were forgotten by society. He is survived by his wife of 49 years: Nancy L. Ackley of Leesburg, FL.; three sons: Robert Ackley of Las Vegas, NV, Michael Ackley of Seattle, WA, Joseph Acley-Yandell; three daughters: Christine Horne of Glendale, AZ, Cheryl Ackley of Buffalo, NY, and Maryellen Ackley of South Carolina; two sisters: Carol Ackley of Buffalo, NY, and Patricia Paradise of Denver, CO; twelve grandchildren: William, Michael, Tiffany, Maria, Robert, Gilbert Grace, Sandra, Kurtiss, Nicole, Jaime and Denise; 10 great-grandchildren: Anthony, Isabella, Brian and David, Kristina, Zachary, Brandon, Brooke, Joseph and Thomas. He was preceded in death by his parents Newell and Mabel Ackley, a son Brian Ackley and a brother Robert Ackley. A Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Ackley will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Real Life 1501 Steves Road, Clermont, FL 34711.
