William Menefee's Obituary
William “Bill” Menefee, 83, passed away on June 25, 2025 at his residence in The Villages, Florida. Bill was born on August 1, 1941 in Brooklyn, New York to his parents Flournoy Menefee and Ruth Florence (Goodwin) Menefee.
Bill moved to The Villages in 2013 from Elgin, Illinois. Bill was enjoying his retirement after a successful, lifelong career in sales. He was a proud veteran who served in the United States Air Force from 1961 to 1965. Bill was a member of the Hustlers Ski Club and had skied in many notable locations around the world. He was also a member of the Escapees RV Club, was an avid Civil War historian and enjoyed scuba diving. He was proud of his philanthropy for the many different organizations he believed strongly in and was dedicated to his Christian faith.
Bill is survived by his children: Kirk Douglas Menefee-Dall and his wife Kristin of Manteca, CA, Kelley Ann Menefee of Georgetown, TX, and Karie Lynn Menefee-Shelton of Lake Isabella, CA. His siblings: brother Michael Menefee and his husband Chuck of Huntley, IL, sister Patricia Walker and her husband Don of Haslett, MI, and brother Robert Menefee and his wife Barbara of Spring Grove, IL. Ten grandchildren: Kassi, Kyle, Kayla, Kirk Jr., Breanne, Joshua, Hannah, Noah, Jerimiah and Hayden; four great-grandchildren: Brennen, Kyndall, Emma and Sterling; and many loving nieces and nephews.
The family has requested in lieu of flowers that donations can be made to The Salvation Army at https://www.salvationarmyusa.org/ in Bill’s loving memory.
A Graveside service will take place on Thursday, October 9, 2025 at 11:0AM at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida with Military Honors.
