Bill was one of the most Positive persons I had ever met, let alone his sharing/ education/ sports/ and "joking around." He was a man who could "build you up" with his warmth, wit, and smile. Everyone who came in touch with Bill left a "Better person." My Thoughts and Prayers go out to his Family and Close Friends.
While I wish so much that I could have met Bill, I have the honor of being friends with his daughter, Erin. I can touch his essence through her - in her adoration and care for all living beings, her stewardship of the Earth, her sensitive heart, resourcefulness, and independence…and friendship. I’ve heard Erin speak often of Bill and how blessed she felt having been raised in such connection to the Earth and to life with him and in the practical skills she picked up as well. I know Erin knows how much he loved her, which is so important in life - to know your father loved you and was proud of you. I’m so honored to have been touched by his energy through his daughter, and grieve what is loss of a true steward and lover of life and this miracle of a planet.
First of all my deepest sympathies to mom Cunningham and family. Mr C was a mentor to me for many many years. His guidance and love shown when my son passed almost 3 years ago was typical of him. One of the most caring souls ever. Carry in my friend. Carry on.
Bill was a fellow global meditator. Many times over the years we joined others in meditation and prayer for the betterment of this earth, its people, distressed animals & ecology in need of great care. What a privilege to know him this way. A gentle spiritual warrior, humanitarian full of compassion and kindness, my thoughts are with his beautiful family, most beloved wife and all of you who loved him so. Bill will always have a special place in my heart. He was one of the first upper classmates I met at John Carroll University, who was interested in who I was as a person. After pledging Bill welcomed me into the fraternity with open arms. I feel blessed to have exchanged emails and FB posts with him over the last few years. With sympathy and prayers to Jan and the rest of Bill’s family.

My husband and I were Golf Cart friends with Bill at Continental Country Club in FL. We'd usually run into him on our bird watching rides around Gazebo Pond where he'd be doing tai chi next to his cart with its hand painted panels showing FL scenes. Sometimes he'd just be arriving and would pull up next to us to solve world problems or share stories. He always made us smile and feel our day was better for having him in it. We knew he was struggling with his health, but are sadly surprised by his passing. Our deepest sympathy to Jan and his family. Kallen Kneeland & Kris Snell

I knew Bill thru his wonderful Art in Facebook Book Art Clubs - he was friendly, helpful, kind and generous and very talented. I missed his presence in recent months and he said he hadn't felt much like painting....... so glad we got to know him. The photos are just a sample of his art he shared.
I was in nursing school with Bill, we graduated in 2004. He was an amazing person, gentle, caring and so thoughtful. I am so sad to hear this news. Sending his family prayers and condolences from SW Florida.
