William Ellis Carter's Obituary
William Ellis Carter, 78, New Port Richey, FL / Webster, FL went to be with the Lord on March 15, 2014 in Hudson, FL. Mr. Carter was born on April 8, 1935 in Athens, Alabama to his parents Carlyle Richard Carter and Martha Lucille (Christensen) Carter. He was a Restaurateur and Owner of Carters Big Burgers Restaurant in Hamilton, Ohio and a franchisee of Kentucky Fried Chicken. He was referred by many as the “Chicken Man”. He and his wife moved to Florida in 1984 from Cincinnati, Ohio and he was a member of the Church of Christ. He was a Master Mason in the Grand Council in Cincinnati as well as a Shriner and Order of the Eastern Star in Ohio. He was an accomplished Horticulturalist and Gardener and had specialized in Hibiscus Plants where he had competed in many shows demonstrating his expertise in the field. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years: Phyllis M. Carter of New Port Richey and Webster, FL; two Sons: William Edward Carter (Victoria) of Columbia, MO and Hugh Joel Carter (Nancy) of Cincinnati, OH; a sister: Martha Emily Carter-Warren of Vero Beach, FL; two grandchildren: Chad Bryan Carter and Kyle Brandon Carter; four great-grandchildren: Noah, Benjamin, Caleb and Caden; a niece and nephew: Sue McGee and Jeff Warren. He was preceded in death by a son Warren Douglas Carter. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at 2:00PM at Florida Grand Motor Coach Resort, Webster, Florida. .
