Wesley Wilton Nelson Harrison's Obituary
Wesley Wilton Nelson Harrison, 80, of Lake Panasoffkee, FL, passed away on Friday, March 21, 2025. Born on September 1, 1944, in Homosassa, FL, he was the beloved son of John W. and Grace E. (née Miley) Nelson.
Wesley cherished the hymn, "Redeemed, how I love to proclaim it, redeemed by the blood of the Lamb. Redeemed through His infinite mercy, His child and forever I am."
After dedicating 32 years to Florida Power and Light, Wesley retired and pursued a new passion, becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). His love for music was evident as he enjoyed singing and creating music with friends, even recording a music CD together.
Among his fondest memories was a vacation in Ohio with dear friends Frank and Vera. However, Wesley found his greatest peace in the company of his family and his Lord Jesus Christ. When asked about his most treasured family memory, he lovingly recalled his marriage to his beloved wife, Mamie.
He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Lori Ann Harrison; sons: John W. Harrison and Jason Eric Harrison; and sister, Gay Denton and brother, Luke Nelson.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Mamie Leona (nee Fussell) Harrison, daughter-in-loves: Jennifer (Walter) Hickman and Denise Harrison; grandchildren: Zachary, Katie, Jacob, Tyler, Brandi, Matthew, Rachel, and Erin; 5 great-grandchildren and many siblings.
There will be a gathering of family and friends from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm Saturday, March 29, 2025, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 pm at Banks/Page-Thues Funeral Chapel 410 Webster St. Wildwood, FL 34785. Graveside service will follow at Nichols cemetery in Oxford, FL.
