Walter Bayne Rounds' Obituary
Walter “Bayne” Rounds, 72, of Wildwood, FL passed away Friday, February 20, 2015. Mr. Rounds was born February 22, 1942 in Williamsport, PA to the late Thomas John Rounds, I and Ida Carol Bayne Rounds. Bayne grew up in Merchantville, NJ, he served in the US Marine Corp and was a decorated marksman. He had a long career as a banker in many areas of FL finally retiring as bank president of the Center State Bank in Wildwood. He was active in many areas of the community including a long history with Rotary. He was past president of the Wildwood Rotary Club and was a Paul Harris recipient. He was a member of the Orange Park Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite, active with the Sumter County Chamber of Commerce and the Sumter County Development Council as well as serving on the board of directors for the Fox Hollow Home Owners Association. Bayne was an avid sportsman, he loved hunting and fishing. After retiring he enjoyed being a gentleman farmer and especially liked working with his tractor on his farm in TN. Survivors include his loving wife of 28 years, Lois “Dee”; children, Beth Rounds-Parker (Scott) of Jacksonville, David Bayne Rounds of Jacksonville, Daniel Davis of Hilton Head, SC and Kenneth Malaspina of Muscle Shoals, AL; brother, TJ Rounds, II of Vero Beach; 4 grandchildren, Emily and Becky Parker, Michael Remley and Kimberly Malaspina and 2 great-grandsons, Preston and Landon Remley.
