Wallace Darden Hinkle's Obituary
W.D. “Wedge” Hinkle, 87, of Wildwood passed away, Tuesday, December 11, 2012. Mr. Hinkle was born May 15, 1925 in Vicksburg, Ms. to the late Herbert and Emma (Coggins) Hinkle. He moved to Wildwood in 1952 from Tn. He served in the US Navy during WWII, was a conductor on the railroad retiring from Seaboard Coastline. Wedge was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wildwood and the American Legion Post 18. He was an avid golfer and caught flying squirrels in his younger years. His family always enjoyed him grilling steaks for them and spending time together. Survivors include his loving wife of 64 years, Billie; 6 children, Monty of Wildwood, Dianne (Jugle) Smith of Leesburg, David (Cindi) of Wildwood, Mark (Maggie) of Ocala, Michael (Michelle) of Wildwood and Darren of Wildwood; a sister, Melba Justice of Tn.; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren on the way. Mr. Hinkle’s family will receive friends, 2:00pm-4:00pm, Sunday, December 16, 2012 in the Banks/Page-Theus Chapel with a funeral service 11:00am, Monday, December 17, 2012 in the First Baptist Church of Wildwood.
