Dear Jackie & family,
I'm so sincerely sorry to learn of your loss. As you prepare to say goodbye, know that you are in my prayers. Peace and light. It's all about the love. 🩷Laura E.
Papaw,
When I was a boy you were always the favorite. My sister and I would be so excited to see you. I remember riding in your Mazda RX7. I guaranty no other kids had a grandpa like you. Always fun, loving and caring. One of my first memories I was probably 4 ,was catching my first fish in your house boat. I wanted to keep it. I ran around the boat kissing the fish and refused to let it go. I believe somehow the fish was released lol. I also remember my sister and I needed jackets, you took us shopping not just any coat you got us the cool ones where we could remove the sleeves and turn them into vest!! Yes the 80s lol! You would take my sister and I for part of the summer the memories of playing video games, swimming in the pool, miniature golf and baking with Cookie. We always felt safe and loved around you. My only regret is not telling you this when I had the chance. My 5 boys will know who you are and what you mean to me. I love you Papaw!!
From Margarita parties to Easter family get together my dad was always there for me no judgments he always had my back. My world is a bit more empty and a little scarier. I love you Dad he always said "I love you more"

My heart breaks for you all 😞 I have been friends with his step daughter, Jackie for over 20 years and Van was the greatest!!! The margarita parties in Madison and VFW will always be wonderful memories to me. Van was always so welcoming and kind you could feel the love he had for his family and friends. I was looking forward to getting down to Florida to do another shot with him 😞 Please know I’m sending you all my love and prayers. This is a picture of Jackie and I at one of the Margarita Parties. RIP, Van!
Van was a great man. He will truly be missed. So sorry for your loss Eileen, Jackie & Dom. Hugs and prayers to all of you. 😘 🙏🏻
Though I only had the pleasure of meeting Van once, it was evident from that brief encounter that he was a remarkable individual, brimming with wisdom and having lived a truly fulfilling life. Rest easy Van.
