Troy Lee Miller's Obituary
Dr. Troy Lee Miller, 63, passed away Friday, Aug. 5,2011, at Tampa General Hospital. He was born in Wildwood, FL, to the Revs. John and Hazel Miller on Feb. 15, 1948. Dr. Miller began his ministry in 1968, and through the years, his anointed teaching and powerful prayers led countless numbers to Jesus. He received his Doctorate of Divinity from Beacon University, Columbus, GA.In 1985, he returned to his birthplace as the pastor of the same church his father pastored many years prior. In 1999, he left that church to begin his own church ministry, today known as United Community Fellowship in Wildwood, and subsequently became the spiritual father to many sons and daughters.Dr. Miller traveled the world ministering to tens of thousands. His great love for people caused him to stand a head and shoulders above all the rest.His leadership in Sumter County Freedom Fests gathered thousands to celebrate our nation’s heritage, and his TV ministry enjoyed many faithful followers. His church was known for its dynamic preaching and outstanding musical presentations.His desire to help the down-and-out caused him to establish Turn Around Project, a rehabilitation program, that helped numerous men “turn their lives around.”He was senior pastor for 23 years, and for the past three years since giving the pastorate to his son, he has served as bishop to United Community Fellowship along with other churches under his leadership.He is survived by his loving wife, Teresa Blue Miller of 43 years. Sons: Timothy (Marnie) Miller, Troy Lee (Stacy) Miller Jr. and Trent Samuel Miller. Brothers: John Ralph (Paula) Miller Jr., Lemuel David (Davonne) Miller. Sister: Alethea Jan (Robert) Williams.
