Thomas J Jim Smith's Obituary
Thomas J. "Jim" Smith, age 86, of Wildwood, son of Frank M. and Erma Troutman Smith, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2009. He is survived by his wife, Jean, and daughters Jackie Parker of Tampa, Fl., Janice (Charles) McDonald of Trenton, Fl., and granddaughters Chelcie and Courtney Parker of Tampa, Fl., He moved to Florida from Indianapolis, In. 55 years ago and retired from the Jos. Schlitz Brewing Company in Tampa. Mr. Smith served in the Army Air Corps during WWII, flying C-46 and C-47 planes in the South Pacific. He was a member of Pilot Class 44-E; American Legion Post No 18, Wildwood; Sons of the American Revolution; Jim Smith Society; member and honorary deacon of Continental Christian Church (Disciples of Christ); and Prospect Lodge #714 F&AM, Indianapolis, Indiana. Memorial service will be held Sunday, April 19, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Continental Christian Church, 6200 E. CR-468. Burial will be at Florida National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to your local Hospice.
