Thomas Eric Springer's Obituary
Thomas Eric Springer, 67, of Fort McCoy, started his Heavenly tour on February 19, 2026, where he was reunited with his beloved wife, Kim- and almost certainly started organizing a jam session within the first five minutes!
Born on December 25, 1958, in San Francisco, California, Tom was the son of Ronald Eric and Mary Evelyn (Nickerson) Deckman.
Tom became a Florida resident after moving from California in the early 1980s. A talented builder and fabricator, he had a remarkable gift for creating with his hands.
Music wasn’t just something Tom loved — it was who he was. A passionate drummer, he believed deeply that “Music is love,” and he proved it by playing loud and often. Neighbors may not have always requested encores, but Tom gave them anyway!
He will be missed dearly and remembered fondly for his great sense of humor and deep love for music. Those who knew him best will forever hear his familiar words, “I love you, Pal.”
Tom is survived by his children, Erica Helms and her partner, Katelyn Spencer; Ashley Silance, and Tommy Lee Springer; his mother, Mary Deckman; his siblings, Johni, Carol, Ron, and Lloyd; and several precious grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 32 years, Kim; his father, Ron Deckman; and his siblings, Bob and Maralane.
Since he didn't believe in saying goodbye, we will say until we meet again, Pal!
