Thomas Harry Pickett's Obituary
Thomas Harry Pickett died Sunday July 29, 2018 at Leesburg, Florida. He was born April 17, 1934 in Baltimore, Maryland, the son of the late Thomas Andrew Pickett and Margaret Virginia Hammond Pickett.
Mr. Pickett joined the United States Air Force in 1951 and retired in 1974. Upon retiring from the Air Force, he then went to work for the United States Postal Service until his retirement in 1987.
Mr. Pickett was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wildwood, Florida. He was a Mason for 52 years, Past Master of the Wildwood Masonic Lodge Number 92 F&AM and a Past Patron of Wildwood Chapter Number 24, Order of the Eastern Star.
Mr. Pickett is survived by his wife of 60 years, Shirley Marlene Shaffer Pickett of Wildwood, Florida; two sons: Douglas Eugene Pickett of Orlando, Florida and Ronald Harold Pickett of Miami, Florida; two grand children, Samantha-Jo Elizabeth Pickett of Mascotte, Florida and Sean Thomas Pickett of Seoul, South Korea; and one great grand daughter, Alexeia Daniela Williamson of Mascotte, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Harry Pickett, Jr. and his two sisters, Marilyn Virginia Simms of Baltimore, Maryland and Shirley Jean Mendeles of Baltimore, Maryland.
Visitation and Masonic Services will be held Wednesday from 5 to 7 at Banks/Page-Theus Funeral Home, Wildwood, Florida. Funeral Service will be held Thursday August 2nd at 10:00 AM at the funeral home with Interment to follow at the Pine Level Cemetery, Oxford, Florida with Military Honors.
