Thomas Richard Greene's Obituary
Thomas Richard Greene, 69, of The Villages, FL, passed away on April 27, 2026. Thomas (Tom) was born on October 3, 1956, in New Haven, CT, to his parents; Ralph R. and Joan A. (Gonnella) Greene.
Tom grew up in Wareham, MA, and attended Northeastern University, where he received a degree in Civil Engineering. Upon graduating, Tom relocated to Vallejo, CA, where he began his career as an engineer at the Mare Island Naval Shipyard. It was there that he met the love of his life, Barbara, whom he married in 1992.
In 1997, Tom joined the Department of Energy’s Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, where he worked for 20 years until his retirement in 2017.
Tom enjoyed playing tennis and golf throughout his life. In 2025, he moved to The Villages, Florida, where he continued to be an avid golfer.
Tom will be missed dearly and remembered fondly by all who knew him.
He is survived by his son, Daniel Greene; his stepchildren, Kristina and Sergio Lara; his grandson, Naveen; and his siblings, Alan, Ralph, Carol, James, Robert, and Daniel.
Tom was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 25 years, Barbara, and his parents.
