Theresa Kurzeja's Obituary
Theresa “Terry” Kurzeja, 68, The Villages, Florida, passed away on September 14, 2025, at The Harrison of Wildwood, Wildwood, Florida. Theresa was born on September 2, 1957, in Chicago, Illinois, to her parents, William Kurzeja and Stephanie (Kobos) Kurzeja.
Theresa was a retired Bank Teller who had worked in the Banking Industry for many years. She originally moved from Chicago, Illinois, to Las Vegas, Nevada, then ten years ago she moved from Las Vegas, Nevada, to The Villages, Florida. Theresa loved Polka music and arts and crafts, especially painting and assembling small items. She enjoyed riding her scooter and visiting neighbors. Theresa was a Catholic and attended St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Wildwood, Florida. She enjoyed watching TV and especially the old tv shows on TV Land. Theresa loved Panera Bread Company, especially their soups.
Theresa is survived by a special cousin who was more like a younger brother: Scott Jakubowski, his wife, Sandra, and their loving children, or as Auntie Theresa called them, her “paczki’s”, Jack, Griffin, Iris, and Holden of Cedar Lake, IN.
She was preceded in death by her incredible parents and her beloved sister and travel companion, Barbara Kurzeja.
A memorial chapel service for this beautiful soul will be held at Resurrection Cemetery in Justice, Illinois, on Saturday, October 11th, at 11:00 am. Mourners should gather by the main office of the cemetery before the service.
