Sylvia Jane Walker's Obituary
Sylvia Jane Walker passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at the age of 72. She was born on May 26, 1939 in Elmira, New York to the late Harold and Elinor Sawdey. Sylvia worked for many years as a toll collector for the Florida Turnpike system, was active in the D.A. V., the Moose Lodge, and a life member of the American Legion. She is survived by two sons; Jeffrey Walker of Zephyrhills, FL, Kenneth Walker of Manassas, VA, three daughters; Charice Cornish of Dandridge, TN, Terry McEwen of Wildwood, FL, and Michelle Springer of Waverly, NY. Sylvia is also survived by one brother, Harold Sawdey of The Villages, FL and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Kenneth Walker in 1998, and a brother Richard Sawdey. Funeral services for Mrs. Walker will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. in the Banks/Page-Theus Chapel in Wildwood. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2:00p.m. until the time of services. Burial will take place in the family plot in New York.
