Sylvia L. Goad's Obituary
Sylvia L. “Oma” Goad, 83 Wildwood, Florida went to be with the Lord on December 9, 2016 at Somerset on Lake Saunders, Tavares, Florida. Mrs. Goad was born on October 11, 1933 in Bluefield, West Virginia to her parents Jess and Georgia Byrd. Mrs. Goad had worked in the Health Care Field as a Care Giver to those with special needs and the elderly. She moved to Wildwood over 40 years ago from Orlando. Sylvia had a home for special needs children in Coleman, Florida for several years. She also owned a thrift store in Wildwood at one time called Oma’s Thrift Store. She enjoyed crafts and painting and liked to organize special events such as weddings, and family gatherings. She is survived by her sons: Montgomery, Steven, Jon, Jeff and Jeffrey; a daughter: Patricia; a sister: Nancy; many grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and several loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Jess and Georgia Byrd, her late husband William Goad, a sister Phyllis, a brother J.W., three sons Richard, Scott and Billy and a daughter Melody. A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Banks, Page-Theus Funeral Home, Wildwood, FL. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 15, at 11:00AM at Banks, Page-Theus Funeral Home, Wildwood, FL. with burial to follow at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida.
