Thomas, Shirley Yvonne's Obituary
Shirley Yvonne Thomas, 87, Bushnell, Florida passed away on February 14, 2025 at her residence in Bushnell, Florida under the care of her family and staff of Cornerstone Hospice. Shirley was born on August 10, 1937 in Camden, Michigan to her parents Claude Gary and Mabel (VanNuys) Gary.
Shirley moved to Bushnell, Florida with her late husband Kenneth P. Thomas and resided in the area for more than 30 years. She was the owner of “Beaver-Run” a party store in Michigan for 15 years prior to moving to Florida. Shirley was of the Christian faith. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post #10137 of Bushnell, Florida. Shirley loved to be around family and loved to play bingo.
She is survived by her children: Debra Renollet and her fiancé Medie Hicks of Toledo, Ohio and Royce Havens and his wife Raciene of Munith, MI; seven grandchildren: Jeremy, Melissa, Benji, Heidi, Trish, Shawn and Levi; fifteen great-grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband: Kenneth P Thomas; a beloved son, David Havens, her parents and was the last survivor of her seven siblings.
A Graveside Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at 2:00PM at Evergreen Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida with a Visitation to be held prior to the Graveside Funeral Service from 12:30PM to 1:30PM at Banks, Page-Theus Funeral Home Chapel, Wildwood, Florida.
The family has requested in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) at www.aspca.org in Shirley’s loving memory.
