Santiago Macaya's Obituary
Santiago Macaya, 74, of The Villages passed away Sunday, January 6, 2013. Mr. Macaya was born September 14, 1938 in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico. He moved to The Villages in 2005 from Burbank, Ca. He was Catholic and had served as a Eucharist Minister until he became ill. He was a U.S. Army veteran and had retired as a commercial salesman. Survivors include his loving wife of 50 ½ years, Lydia; son, Mike of Atlanta, Ga.; daughter, Melissa Macaya-Ponikvar of Orange County, Ca; 2 brothers, Nino and Luis along with 2 sisters, Mary and Dolores. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00am, Saturday, January 12, 2013, in the St. Timothy’s Catholic Church, The Villages.
