Sandra Carole Leis' Obituary
Sandra Carole (Helton) Leis, 86, of Jacksonville, FL and previously Wildwood, FL passed away March 30, 2025. She was born December 31, 1938, in Jacksonville to Leroy W. and Edith L. (Tillotson) Helton.
She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Barbara Yvonne Leis.
Sandra dedicated her life to caring for newborn babies and was a head nurse in Special Care nursery/NICU at St Vincent's Hospital in Jacksonville for over 40 years. She was a member of Murray Hill Baptist Church in Jacksonville and First Baptist Church of Wildwood while living in Wildwood. She loved the Lord, singing in the church choir, and volunteering with Caring Hands Food and Clothing Ministry of Wildwood.
She is survived by daughter, Robin R. Messinese of Jacksonville; son, Michael Kevin Leis of Jacksonville; brothers: Richard (LaJuana) Helton of Loxahatchee, FL and Stanley (Beth) Helton of Flagler Beach, FL; grandchildren: Jessica R. Messinese and Jacob T. Messinese.
The family will receive friends at the Banks/Page-Theus Chapel 410 Webster St. Wildwood, FL 34785 on Friday, April 11, 2025, from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M, with funeral services following at 12:00 P.M. Interment will then follow in the Greenwood Cemetery.
