Sandra Lynn Bahr's Obituary
Sandra “Sandy” Lynn Bahr, 73, of The Villages, Florida, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2025, at 11:30 a.m., surrounded by her loving family. Born on June 2, 1952, in Lockport, New York, Sandy lived a life defined by love, faith, and resilience.
A true warrior, Sandy fought cancer courageously for nearly six years. She won that battle in the most profound way—by rising above pain and suffering, now free and whole as she roams the heavens.
Sandy’s life was a testament to the values she cherished most: family, friendship, kindness, and love. She touched everyone she met with her radiant smile, joyful laugh, and unwavering compassion. To those who knew her, Sandy was a role model who showed what it meant to put family first. She lovingly hosted large gatherings, made regular trips back to Western New York, and treasured yearly family vacations at Westcott Beach. Generous by nature, she freely shared what she had, always making those around her feel special and deeply loved.
She was preceded in death by her father, John (Jack) L. Clark, and her son, Edward Christopher Bahr.
Sandy is survived by her devoted husband of 49 years, Edward (Ed) C. Bahr; her loving mother, Carol M. Clark; her daughters, Aimee (Rick) Canby; Melissa Bahr, Renee (Troy) Risch, and her cherished grandchildren, Alexis (Brock) Bahr, Mackenzie (Chris) King, Eva Canby, Gabrielle King, Grant Canby, McKenna (Abe) Risch, Haley (Shane) Mahabadi, Skylar Risch, Elle Risch, and Jake Risch.
Sandy graduated from Catskill High School in Catskill, New York. In 1979, she moved to Birmingham, Alabama, where she worked as the Assistant to the Chief Economist Officer at AmSouth Bank. She also partnered with her husband in several business ventures, managing human resources and operations, and ultimately retired in 2016 as a Broker’s Assistant with Raymond James.
A Celebration of Life to honor Sandy will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Rock of Ages Church 4957 E County Rd 462, Wildwood, FL 34785. A viewing for friends will begin at 10:15am to 11:00 am. The service will begin at 11:00am. Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and celebrate the legacy of a woman whose love and light will continue to shine through all who were blessed to know her.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, so that children may live longer, healthier lives - a cause close to Sandy's heart.
