Samuel Rivera's Obituary
Samuel Rivera, 93, Sebring, Florida passed away on February 28, 2025 at his residence under the care of his family and staff of Compassionate Care Hospice. Samuel was born on September 21, 1931 in Morovis, Puerto Rico to his parents Eusebio Rivera and Carmelina (Miranda Archilla) Rivera.
Samuel and his late wife Betsy moved to Sebring, Florida 30 years ago, from Bronx, New York. He was of the Catholic faith. He was a retired Maintenance Worker for a residential building (Charles H. Greenthal) in Manhattan, New York for many years. Samuel was a proud member of the Union local 32BJSEIU that represents property service workers. He was respected by all who knew him and was kind to everyone. He would be the first to give the shirt off his back to anyone in need and has helped many. He was greatly loved and will be greatly missed by his family.
He is survived by his two loving daughters: Milagros Rivera of Sebring, FL and Amarillys Osorio of NY. and her husband Francisco; two sons: Samuel Rivera, Jr. of Worcester, MA and Edgar Rivera of Arizona; two brothers: Juan Rivera of Sebring, FL and Daniel Rivera of Puerto Rico; seven loving grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Betsy Rivera and several siblings.
The family will be having a private memorial service with interment to take place at a later date.
