Samuel Joseph Hairston's Obituary
Samuel Joseph ‘Joey’ Hairston passed away on Friday, May 27, 2011 at the age of 33. He was born on October 31, 1977 in St. Augustine, FL to Edward and Cheri Hairston, but lived most of his life in the Sumter County area. Joey worked for Caterpillar as a field service technician and loved to be out salt water fishing whenever he could. He was also a true family man who loved his wife and children, as was known as a guy who would give you his last penny, if it would help you. Joey was a man who loved well, and was well loved. He is survived by his loving wife of over 10 years, Amy Jo Hairston, one son; Austin, two daughters; Alexis and Layla, and one brother ‘Buck’ (Stacey) Hairston. He is also survived by his mother and Sue Hairston, in-laws: Chris and Lisa Caruthers, two brothers-in-law Christopher and Clayton Caruthers and one sister-in-law Christy (Larry) Gaines. He was predeceased by his father, Eddie. There will be a Memorial Service for Joey on Saturday, June 4, 2011 from 1:00 P. M. to 4:00 P.M. at the Old Middle School ( Sumter Professional Center) in the Media Room, 200 Cleveland Avenue, Wildwood. In lieu of flowers, monetary donations may be directed to Banks/Page-Theus Funeral home in Joey’s memory.
