Roy "Leon" Jones' Obituary
R. Leon Jones, 86, of Lake Panasoffkee passed away Sunday, October 18, 2015 under the care of his family and Cornerstone Hospice. Mr. Jones was born September 1, 1929 in Benton, IL to Roy C. and Gladys (Taylor) Jones. He retired after 40+ years in telecommunications and enjoyed fishing, hunting, antiquing and flea markets. He moved here in 1998 from IL. Leon was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lake Panasoffkee where he served faithfully as a deacon. Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Jane; children, Cheryl Bier (Ron) of IL, Terri Jones of Lake Panasoffkee and Robert Leon Jones (Regina Niemann) of IL; 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Leon’s family will celebrate his life with a service in the First Baptist Church of Lake Panasoffkee, 1:00 pm, Friday, October 23, 2015, with visitation prior to the service from 12:00 until 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Lake Panasoffkee. On-line condolences may be shared by visiting www.bankspagetheus.com.
