Roy Dean Daves' Obituary
Roy Dean Daves was born January 18, 1956 to Robert and Katheline Daves of Kings Mountain, North Carolina. As a child his family moved to Pompano Beach, Florida then settled in Wildwood, Florida.
He married Lucinda “Cindy” Kae Crenshaw on December 10th, 1976. They enjoyed many years of outdoor adventures together and had their only son Israel Paul Daves on September 10th, 1984.
Roy passed his love of the outdoors down to his son. From ATVs of all types, Airboats, hunting, fishing, frog gigging, and running deer hounds, Roy and his family stayed in the woods or on the water. He was well known in the community for his vast knowledge and experience as a mechanic. He enjoyed being a Marine Tech and worked Nobles Marine for 30 years. He has one granddaughter, Lorelei Mae Daves, he adored and loved to spoil every chance he got.
Roy is preceded in death by his parents and his beloved “second son” Brandon Rivenbark.
He is survived by his wife Lucinda “Cindy”, son Israel (Cheyenne), granddaughter Lorelei, siblings Robin (Kevin) Geoghegan, Diane (Randall) Williamson, Billy Ray (Debbie) Daves, Susie Daves, Anita (Marcus) Murphy, Bobby (Cathy) Daves, Sister/Brother-in-law Melissa and Jimmy Fort, Uncles JC Daves, Robert Guin, Aunt Francis Byars, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Roy will be remembered by family and friends at Oak Grove Cemetery on Wednesday, May 20th at 10:00am, lunch will be served. A private viewing will take place prior.
