Ronald Veilleux's Obituary
Ronald Veilleux, age 86, of Oxford, FL, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 16, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and kindness. Born in Lawrence, MA to Dolor and Lucille (Faucher) Veilleux, Ron lived a life marked by deep devotion—to his country, his family, and his community.
A proud veteran, Ron served honorably in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He retired as a Master Sergeant after 22 years, 11 months, and 21 days of dedicated service—though in his words, “But who’s counting?” His sense of humor and humility were just part of what made him so beloved.
Ron was the embodiment of selflessness. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, he lived by the principle of “service to others,” always ready to lend a hand or share a kind word. He found joy in the simple pleasures—golfing, cooking, gardening, and spending time in nature. His love for Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline” was well known, and his protective spirit and wisdom were gifts he generously shared with those closest to him.
He was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Arlene Rita Veilleux, and beloved son, David Veilleux. Ron and Arlene were a true example of enduring love, and we honor their bond by sharing a link to Arlene’s obituary here: [Obituary, Visitation & Funeral Information | Arlene Rita Veilleux].
Ron is survived by his son Daniel Veilleux (Jayne), daughter Dianne Mercier (John), brother Raymond Veilleux, and sisters Rachel Lockhart and Reina Telfer. He also leaves behind many dear nieces and nephews.
His legacy continues through his grandchildren—Caitlin, Ashley, Robert, Brittany, and Sarah—and his great-grandchildren: Ayla, Paxtyn, Parker, Amelia, Hudson, Asher, JD Carter, and Charles.
Ron lived a blessed life, and in doing so, he blessed all of us who had the honor of knowing him.
A private celebration of life with U.S. Air Force Honors will be held at a later date at New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery.
