Ronald "Ron" E. Shultz's Obituary
Ronald “Ron” Edward Shultz, 68, of Summerfield, FL passed away peacefully in his home, Thursday, October 13, 2022 in the evening. He was born December 29, 1953, in Newport, NJ at a military hospital to Paul and MaryAnn (nee Ashley) Shultz. Ron was the youngest of his mother's children.
He is survived by his daughter, Teri (Shawn) O’Trimble, grandchildren: Shawn II, Zara, Luke and Leia; 1 great-grandchild now of Florida; His sisters Paulla (Earl) McCoy and Linda Hall of Michigan; and many other friends and family.
Ron grew up in Chicago and Kalamazoo, MI. He joined the Marine Corps at the age of 17. He was honorably discharged in 1971. He then moved to Topeka, KS where he lived until he and Teri's family moved to central Florida in 2019.
Ron worked as a forklift driver in the Payless Shoes warehouse for over 25 years and loved to hang out with friends and family during his off time. He loved to fish at several lakes in Northeast Kansas. He also was a regular patron at the Kickstart Saloon in Topeka.
Ron volunteered at the Belleview United Methodist Church for 3 1/2 years as a security officer, never missing a Sunday morning. Many members of the congregation were grateful to have him around and loved him very much.
A memorial service will be held at Belleview UMC in Belleview, FL on November 5, 2022 at 10am, followed by one of Ron's favorite meals in the church's fellowship hall. Please join us!
Ron’s final resting place will be next to his father and sisters at Hill Cemetery in Lawrence, MI.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations in Ron’s name be made to Belleview United Methodist Church P.O. Box 567 Belleview, FL 34421.
Cremation has taken place at Banks/Page-Theus Funeral Home located at 410 Webster St. Wildwood, FL 34785.
