Rochelle M. Berman's Obituary
Rochelle M. “Shelley” Berman, 71, The Villages, Florida passed away on February 15, 2026 at Mariposa Hospice House in The Villages, Florida. Shelley was born on February 28, 1954 in Burlington, Vermont to her parents Morris Solomon and Mollie (Matza) Solomon.
Shelley and her loving husband Steve moved to The Villages 9 years ago from Trumbull, Connecticut. Shelley and her husband were members of The Kibitzer’s Club, The Borsht Belt Club and South Jewish Chavaruh. Shelley was also a member of Starlight Players and Off Broadway Players where she was an actress and comedian. Shelley also enjoyed Bunco and Bingo in her spare time.
Shelley was especially proud of the fact that she was a published author having written a book “A Glimmer of Hope: Raising a Special Needs Child” which is available on Amazon.
Shelley is survived by her loving husband of 44 years: Steve Berman of The Villages and three loving sons: Andrew Berman from Cleveland, OH, Eric Berman from Tampa, FL and Gary Berman and his wife Victoria from Glastonbury, CT. and a much-beloved granddaughter, Alyssa. As well as three brothers, Harold from Winter Garden, Martin from Cambodia and David and his wife Laura from Jacksonville. Shelley also has several nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at 11:00AM at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Leesburg, Florida with Rabbi Zev Sonnenstein officiating
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the Spina Bifida Association at https://www.spinabifidaassociation.org/ in Shelley’s loving memory.
