Robert E. Woodward's Obituary
Robert E. “Woody” Woodward, 88, of Avon Park, FL passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2016. Mr. Woodward was born June 29, 1927 in Hartford. He was an able seaman with the U.S. Maritime; a Sgt in the U.S. Army, Korean War Veteran; and an instructor with the rank of Lt Commander with the U.S. Sea Cadets. He was of the Episcopal Faith. He retired in 1983 from Southern New England Telephone Company after 34 years of service. In 1998 he moved to Avon Park from Fairfield, CT. Woody loved to fish and was a member of the American Legion Post 69 and the Fayerweather Yacht Club. Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years, Beverly; daughters, Wendy Woodward of Warwick, RI and Lori Hackworth of Rockford, IL; 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Rob.
