Robert Duaine Whitehead's Obituary
Robert Duaine Whitehead, also known as Duaine, Wormy and Poppy, went to be with the Lord on May 30, 2026. Robert was born on August 2, 1956, in Dade City, FL, to his parents; Bobby Whitehead and Hazel (Welch) Smith.
Duaine was a true Florida native, he spent his free time outdoors, fishing, playing golf and riding his motorcycle. He worked as a supervisor in construction for many years until his retirement in 2019. Duaine was often a homebody, but when it came to social situations, he lit up the room with his wit and humor.
Duaine will be missed dearly and remembered fondly.
He is survived by his children; Richard "Ric" Whitehead and Sarah (Kenneth) Brown, his brothers, Larry (Marilyn) Whitehead and Reggie (Coletta) Whitehead, nine grandchildren: Cotrina Hayden, Shanna Buie, Tatiana Pulliam, David Lane, Patric Whitehead, Arion Oglesby, Tye Odom, Izabella Whitlock and Brantlee Whitehead, as well as eleven great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren and several loving nieces and nephews.
Duaine is preceded in passing by his wife of 37 years, Drena, who passed in February of 2021, his parents, Bobby Whithead and Hazel Smith, a son, Marvin Whitehead and a life long friend and stepson, David K. Lane.
