Robert Gerard Smith's Obituary
Robert Gerard Smith, 52, of Ocala, passed away Monday, April 20, 2020. Mr. Smith was born March 2, 1968 in Orlando, FL to Lucius David Smith, Jr. and Anne (Derwitz) Smith. Bob grew up in Leesburg, FL and was a graduate of Leesburg High School. He lived most of his adult life in Ocala, FL. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends. He was of the Catholic faith and retired from U-Haul Company as an Area Field Manager.
Bob is survived by his wife of 25 years, Jennifer; his son Brandon Neil (wife, Kelsea) of Leesburg; his daughter Alyssa Smith of Weirsdale; his grandchildren: Noah, Kourtland, Kensley, Cheyanne, Mason; brothers: Chuck Smith of Longwood, Kenny Smith (wife, Joanne) of Nicaragua; sister, Lori Keller (husband, Gary) of Rock Hill, SC; stepbrothers: Mike Thompson (wife, Dale) of Orlando, FL; Mark Thompson (wife, Alicia) of Fruitland Park, FL; stepmother Carole Smith of Leesburg, FL and many nieces and nephews who will forever remember Uncle Bobby’s famous boiled peanuts he always brought to family gatherings. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Julie Brown. There will be a Celebration of Bob’s Life with family and friends at a later date.
