Robert Eugene Hughes, 77, Webster, FL went to be with the Lord on April 30, 2013 under the loving care of family and staff of Gulf Side Regional Hospice in Dade City, FL. Mr. Hughes was born on October 25, 1935 in Sterling Kentucky to his parents Rex E. and Ila Mae Hughes. He was the Owner and Operator of Hughes Welding of Zephyr Hills, Florida. He has resided here 35 years and was a member of the Church of Christ. Mr. Hughes was a proud Veteran who served in the United States Navy and enjoyed fishing, riding dirt bikes, dune buggies and was a hard worker who loved his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years: Barbara Hughes of Webster, FL; three sons: Joseph (Kathy) Canaday of Tennessee, Ronald Eugene Hughes and Richard Elwood Hughes both of Tampa, FL; four daughters: Patricia (Wayne) Stapleton of North Carolina, Debra (Robert) Watson of Milton, WV, Mellisa Mae McCleod of Indiana and Penny Diane Wayne) Long of Coleman, FL; a brother: David M. Hughes; four sisters: Ruth Fugle, Carol Wintworth, Barbara Baker and Brenda Venerable; 16 Grandchildren; 11 Great-Grandchildren.On-line condolences may be shared by visiting www.bankspagetheus.com.
