Robert Elmer Pearsall's Obituary
Robert Elmer Pearsall, 84, of The Villages, passed away, Sunday, January 16, 2011. Mr. Pearsall was born in Jamaica, NY and moved to The Villages in 1994 from Old Lyme, CT. He served in the US Navy during WWII, the Korean War and the Cold War. He was an ordained United Methodist minister serving churches in New York, Connecticut and Massachusetts. He retired as a technical writer, producing material for early manned space flight programs, Trident nuclear submarines and Sikorsky Black Hawk helicopters. Mr. Pearsall was a former member of The Village Voices, a volunteer fireman from the age of 17, EMT, and a volunteer for the Sumter County Sheriff’s office. He also enjoyed reading.He was a life member and ex-chief of the Windham Hose Company and a former Captain of the Windham Township Rescue Squad in Windham, N.Y. Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Gwen; son, Robert of Folsom, CA; daughters Gail Enslen of New Brighton, MN, Joan Pearsall of Millbury, Ma.; stepdaughters Kim Millspaugh, of Houston, TX, Karen Morrison of Palatine Bridge, NY; brothers Jim of Centerville, GA, Clyde of East Hampton, LI, NY; sisters Virginia Sheehan of Northport, LI, NY, Marion Corcoran of Hartwick, NY and 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Memorial services for Mr. Pearsall will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 24, 2011 in the Banks/Page-Theus Chapel in Wildwood, FL inurnment will follow at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL. Memorial donations may be forwarded to Cornerstone Hospice, 601 Casa Bella, The Villages, Fl. 32159 or the Volunteer Fire Department of your choice.
