Robert Lee Douglas' Obituary
Robert Lee “ROB” Douglas age 61 passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2015 in Leesburg, Florida. Rob was born in Campbell County, Tennessee and moved to the Wildwood, Florida area in 1979 from Orlando. He had a long career as a Plumber/Pipefitter with Local #630 He will be remembered by those close to him as easygoing but soft spoken, and for his good natured attitude. He was a man who made friends easily and could at times be a free spirit making a quick decision and running with it. Rob was a longtime motorcycle and classic car and hot rod enthusiast. He had several successful car projects and from time to time gladly helped others with theirs, but he was happiest when he was fishing… he liked it all and didn’t care if it was a freshwater bass trip or an off shore saltwater trip as long as he could wet a line. Rob is survived by his wife Susan, his mother Yvonne, 3 sons – Robert Lee Douglas Jr., Thomas James Douglas and Jesse Daniel Douglas all of Lakewood, Colorado; 3 daughters- Patricia Lee (Manuel) Gatsiopolous; Rose Erin Medina; and Anne Catherine Douglas all of Lakewood, Colorado; sister – Shirley Sue (Michael) Wilson of Ft. Meade, Florida; 4 grandchildren – Billy, Michaela, Zoe, and Mia and grandchild is expected soon; and 1 nephew – Sean Wilson. Rob was pre-deceased by his Father Lloyd Lee Douglas, Son- Michael Lloyd Douglas; and a Nephew – Robert Wilson.
A gathering celebrating Rob’s life is planned for 10:00 AM Thursday, September 10, 2015 at Banks/Page-Theus Funeral Home and Cremations – 410 N. Webster Street, Wildwood, FL 34785.
